Funding

Funding for speech pathology services can be confusing. At The Speechie’s Classroom, we endeavour to support as many families as we can. Please see below for funding options for our speech pathology services.

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

We can provide services to families who receive NDIS Funding. We can currently only support families who are self-managed or plan-managed.

Medicare Rebates

You may be eligible for Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan (previously known as an Enhanced Primary Care, EPC, plan). This referral provides a rebate for up to 5 speech pathology sessions per calendar year.

Your GP or Paediatrician can determine your child’s eligibility for the plan and provide this referral.

Private Health Insurance

You may be able to claim sessions through your private health insurance (extras cover). Please contact your provider directly to determine your level of cover and claim limits.

You may need to provide the following item numbers to your health fund:

Initial Assessment: Item number 320 Therapy Session: Item number 350
